Ukrainian army suffers heavy casualties and materiel losses

In his daily bulletin published tonight, Igor Strelkov points out the following:

“The total losses we have suffered today and yesterday near Marinovka – Kozhevnya – Dubrovka make for about 50 men, mostly wounded; 2 tanks, 2 BMP APCs, 1 BTR APC. A. Zakharchenko, the commander of “Rampart” and the Deputy Minister of the Interior, got wounded in the arm yesterday while personally spearheading the attack on Kozhevnya”.

 

At that, Strelkov states that “the enemy’s losses are in excess of ours several-fold, especially regarding enemy casualties. Massive damage has been dealt today to the newly arrived Nazi scum battalion “Azov”. The enemy is heavily demoralized, yet still clings to the “corridor”, even though that has narrowed to about 1 km in some locations”. He also says that the punitive forces have failed to break the blockade of the “southern entrapment” and the existence of a corridor is strictly formal, as “it is no more usable for supply purposes due to the destruction of the crossing over the River Mius”.
The bulletin also says that 2 KamAZ trucks carrying enemy infantry have been blasted with command-fired mines between the settlements of Konstantinovka and Novomikhailovka (southwest of the Maryinka village, on the western outskirts of Donetsk) by the “Bird” sabotage and reconnaissance squad of the 2nd Slavyansk infantry battalion.


According to Strelkov, the same group has also obliterated a “Grad” MRLS that was being deployed into firing position in the same district.

As reported by the Minister of Defence of the People’s Republic of Donetsk, “the battle for the Blagodatnoye settlement (north of Amvrosievka)is still being fought. The enemy has launched a repeated attack on the village supported by 4 tanks and 4 BTR APCs. During the battle, 1 BTR APC was gunned down by our manoeuvring squads from company 4 of the 3rd Semenovsk infantry battalion”.



Strelkov also reports that the fights in the vicinity of Marinovka and Dubrovka are still going on at the moment.

“Our artillery delivers fire upon the enemy’s positions and agglomerations of manpower and military units. Numerous fires have been reported near the “Marinovka” terminal, near the settlements of Tarany and Grigorovka; lorry transport and armoured vehicles of the Ukrainian Nazi forces are burning”. According to the commander, “the hostile artillery fire is practically suppressed”.

According to a reporter of the “Vesti” newspaper, the “ units under command of the Ministry of Defence of the People’s Republic of Donetsk have regrouped their forces in Karlovka, Netaylovo and Pervomayskoye, the settlements in the immediate vicinity of Donetsk, in order to avoid casualties and materiel losses”. Representing the government of the People’s Republic of Donetsk, Leonid Baranov has assured the media that “the forces are being regrouped in accordance with a predetermined plan”. He states that the militia retains control over the situation. 



In the meantime, the outskirts of the capital of the People’s Republic of Donetsk are still under heavy shelling. Donetsk is preparing itself for a long siege.
